Use Harvest Data for Variety Decisions in 2023

Sep 13, 2022

Harvest is rapidly approaching and before long corn and beans will be coming out of the fields. Dry weather had plagued most of my trade area in July and August and right now its anyones guess on how variable this crop is. As combines get to going this year will be a very good test to drought tolerance and stress on a crop. Varieties that will do well this year might be ones to look at in the future for our tougher acres. I also have some check strips of fungicide and foliar feed out this time and I will be checking those at harvest to see if increased management even in this drier weather still paid. Derrick and I will take some drone images of these checks and when harvested I will have the data to discuss as well. If you have any questions on varieties or would like to see some of our trial data from this year contact your local SFG agronomist.
