August 19, 2019: Closing Out and Getting Results

August 19, 2019

Finally, we can put away the sprayers until next year (or until fall) and we can start to evaluate how the season went. This is also the time of the year that the agronomy people at SFG sit down with their producers and review the past growing season and discuss what changes need to be made and start making plans for next year. We want you to give us a report card, what did we do that did not meet your expectations, and hopefully what did we do right. We want your honest feedback so we can make the changes needed to earn your business.

We hope you can make plans to attend our SFG Insight Plot meeting on August 29th starting at 5:00 pm at the test plot located just north of the Attica elevator. SFG along with Winfield United has teamed up and put together an impressive 20 acre plot that show cases different seed varieties, nitrogen trials, foliar applications and fungicide trials. Tyler Steinkamp, Eastern Iowa agronomist for Land O’ Lakes, will be discussing what he is seeing not only in the plots but also throughout the state. Also, Kevin Steward with WinField United will be reviewing the different plant health products that have been applied in the plot and the function and purpose of the products and how they are used. We will also give a quick inspection on the seed trials including the Enlist 3 soybeans that will be available next season. Dinner will also be served.

If you have any questions or plan to attend, please contact your SFG representative.
