2025 Seed Corn Preview

The yields in 2024 have been very good. We’ve seen a lot of good things from the hybrids and varieties we are selling at Smith Fertilizer and Grain. The 111-day Dekalb corn that was harvested at 20-22% moisture did exceptionally well. There were many spots in fields with over 300 bushels per acre, and the tough spots did not fall off as sharply as they generally do.

This year has been a bin-buster, but the hybrids coming for 2025 are showing even better yield results. Next year’s corn class has been showing 8-10 bushel better this year’s. It’s good to see the continued increase in corn genetics.
