Introducing Scott Goetz

November 9, 2020
Hello everyone. My name is Scott Goetz. I started with Smith Fertilizer and Grain in August as the Location Manager at Milo. I now also handle feed sales for the Milo, Melcher, Pleasantville and Knoxville areas. I grew up southeast of Mt Ayr on the Missouri border, we had a large cow-calf operation where we also raised and sold quarter horses. The rest of my family had farrow-to-finish hogs which I got to spend a great deal of time with. Since college I have worked for various farm suppliers around south central Iowa. In one of my most recent positions I was manager and handled sales for a feed store in Indianola. Through these jobs I have gained  knowledge in everything from agronomy to refined fuels and lubricants- but my passion has always been the livestock industry. I live with my wife, Cindy, on our farm in the very north west corner of Lucas county where we have a bunch of cows, 5 horses and 2 dogs. In our spare time, when we are not baling or feeding hay, we like to team rope and Cindy barrel races. I am happy to have feed be my priority and to help grow the feed business at Smith Fertilizer and Grain. I look forward to working with you and feel free to call me if you have feed needs or if you are in Milo stop by and see us. We have a very good team here with our Office Manager, Sara, and Agronomist, Jason. I am excited for the future of the Milo location and the feed business at Smith Fertilizer and Grain.
