Prepare for Winter Cattle Feeding

November 23, 2020

Although the past few weeks have treated us very well, the weather winter is coming. I was reading the Farmer’s Almanac the other day. It says that the rest of the year will be slightly warmer and wetter than usual, but still cold. Right now is the perfect time to get prepared for it. Cows, just like us, do not like to be wet and cold. They need up to 30% more feed compared to the rest of the year. This extra feed will help them battle through the winter. We also offer a stress mineral tub that will help even more. It is also a good idea to have barns and stalls cleaned out while mother nature is still on our side.

Harvest has slowed down at our Albia location, which will allow me to go out into the field and meet with customers. I am excited to see to how our feed business is doing outside of Monroe County area.

Also, don’t forget we are still offering a 10% discount on select mineral at our locations. This will be good until the end of the year. For more information in the Centerville and Albia area, contact Kent Watson at 641-218-4232. In all other areas, contact Scott Goetz at 641-218-4015.
