Tissue Sampling

Planting has mostly wrapped up in the area and pre chemicals have been applied.  The crop is looking good.  With a little heat and some sunshine things will look even better.  We all know that the markets have been better this year then in the last few and I have been getting a lot of questions on how we can capitalize on the current situation. 

I strongly believe that the first step to this question is performing a tissue sample on our corn at the V5 stage.  The tissue sample can give us a lot of information.  The tissue sample will tell us what nutrients we are short on and what we can add to our second chemical pass and or side dressing.  If we have one nutrient that is short, that can limit the yield and cost you money.  It can also help you with your fertility program for next years crop.  If we tissue sample corn and it shows that you are short on potash there is almost a 100% chance your beans will be short on potash for the next year. 

Tissue sampling will also show you if your crop is short on nitrogen.  SFG has multiple ways to side dress corn with urea or liquid.  We can also add sulfur, microsync (depending on tissue sample) and stabilizer to the mix to help optimize the yield potential in the field.
