Plan 2022 Today

Dec 13, 2021

So far this has been an open fall to get a lot of work done. We are wrapping up nh3 and are keeping up with dry fertilizer. Most of the field work is complete and now we can start to fine tune our plans for the 2022 growing season. I know most farmers are not looking for another thing to do, but there are some things that we can do to better prepare for next year.

Take some time to sit down with your agronomist to make sure you are on the same page for next year. Take some time to go over maps to make sure everything is correct. There is nothing more frustrating then coming to a field with a sprayer to see new waterways or seeding.

It is also important to go over seed placement with your agronomist. We select certain hybrids for certain fields to make sure we can get the most yield from that acre. Correct seed placement is one of the most important things we can do when planting a field. Taking the time to meet with your agronomist can help you put the right seed in the right field. We find it is important to have a detailed plan in place before the start of the season to help the process go as smoothly as possible. So if you find yourself with a little spare time this winter, take the time to speak with your SFG agronomist about the upcoming 2022 season.
