Consider Stabilizing Spring Nitrogen
Feb 28, 2022
Spring is just around the corner, although as I type this we are getting a start to a fresh coating of snow in the Centerville area. Good news is that it looks like it wont stick around very long as we have some mid 50’s weather next week. As we get closer to getting back in the fields I wanted to take a little time today to discuss nitrogen stabilizers and how they are important no matter what time of year it is. As we all know nitrogen is a big investment to our crop especially this year with pricing how they are. The only time we can stabilize this though is before application so I like to think of it as a cheap insurance policy for your nitrogen. With nitrogen pricing at all time highs it makes more sense to protect our investment more than ever. Losses of nitrogen are almost always costly in yield and given market conditions that could be compounded more this season. At SFG we have options to stabilize all forms of nitrogen that we sell so if you would like to discuss that contact your local SFG agronomist. We would be happy to discuss this with you.
