Chemical Highlight: Zidua Pro from BASF

Jan 19, 2026

The 2026 spray season will be here before we know it. We could be as little as 90 days away from planting, and having a solid chemical plan in place now can set the stage for success this growing season. SFG offers several high-end chemical options for soybeans, and one of our most popular pre-emergent products is Zidua Pro from BASF.

Zidua Pro is a three mode of action pre-emergent that provides both residual and burndown control in soybeans. It contains Zidua, Sharpen, and Pursuit, making it a well-rounded option for early-season weed management.

Zidua delivers long-lasting residual control and is especially effective on small-seeded broadleaf weeds. We like to apply Zidua early in the season, as it requires approximately 0.5 inches of rainfall for activation. Sharpen provides strong burndown and residual activity, controlling most early-season weeds under two inches tall. As weeds begin to exceed that size, we’ve had good success adding 2,4-D to enhance burndown performance. Pursuit rounds out the mix by offering solid grass control along with residual activity on large-seeded broadleaves.

Having a low-use-rate pre-mix like Zidua Pro that combines multiple modes of action is an excellent way to start the chemical season strong and build a solid foundation for weed control.

BASF is also offering 0% financing on chemical products, which can help reduce operating interest costs. Reach out to any SFG agronomist to discuss Zidua Pro and how BASF products can fit into your 2026 weed control plan.
