Post-Harvest Soil Testing

Over the past week it seems most everyone has gotten started harvesting and so far the yield reports have been pretty good. As fields start to get harvested that is a good time to think about your soil test program. If any fields may need sampling fall is a great time to get that done. At SFG we offer GPS grid and conventional soil tests. We can come out and take the conventional test samples as well if you'd like us to. Soil testing is a great way to get a fertility plan started, or to guide you to a comprehensive approach to raising higher yields. Soil PH is something that is often overlooked, but it can cause tie-up of some of our nutrients for crops. Sometimes a lime application is the most beneficial thing we can do to start raising yields.
